About Haryana Nursing (GNM, ANM and MPHW) Admission 2016
Haryana Nursing Admission 2016 – Nurses are an important part of healthcare community. Patients are first received and cared by nurses than doctors. Nurses are educated with latest technologies and their uses and also care from birth to death of a patient. Nursing is a very good profession as you can serve the society and also get a better pay in return.
Admission in nursing colleges has become tough with time as competition has increased and everyone fights for an entrance examination in order to take admission in best nursing college. Every state has different procedure for nursing college admissions 2016. One has to qualify the mandatory examination and interview in order to hold the particular seat in particular college.
Haryana is one such state of India which has different nursing entrance examinations for getting admissions in best nursing colleges. Three of the main nursing entrance examinations in Haryana are GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery (Staff Nurse), ANM (Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery / Multi Purpose Health Worker) and MPHW (Multi Purpose Health Worker.
In order to clear GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery, one has to have following education requirements such as Certificates of Matriculation, +1/+2 Higher Secondary or the previous examination passed with at least 40 % marks then, for GNM, candidates should be at least 17 years to 35 years. Similarly for ANM (Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery / Multi Purpose Health Worker), one has to have Certificates of Matriculation, +1/+2 Higher Secondary or the previous examination passed with at least 40 % marks.
For MPHW also one has to have passed twelfth class with at least 40 % marks.
GNM offer students challenging career opportunities in health care services. GNM cover all subjects including Anatomy, English, Nutrition, Computer education with essential subjects in the field of nursing. Students are sent for Internships where they are introduced to research areas and also Educational Methods and Media for teaching in practice of nursing.
ANM also offer students opportunities to work in the bad condition places. ANM also covers all the necessary subjects in the field of nursing. AMNs provide preventive, restorative and emergency health care to individuals and community as required.
In all the three courses, GNM, ANM and MPHW, students are posted in all departments of hospital and are exposed to every type of area whether it is Urban or Rural community. Diploma holders in GNM, ANM and MPHW can get jobs in government hospitals, primary health care centres, dispensaries and health projects as well as schemes run by the government departments.
Other than Government organizations, private sector also has lots of job opportunities for degree holders in GNM, ANM and MPHW such as nursing homes and clinics.
Other fields like military and defense services also have requirements for GNM, ANM and MPHW degree holders. Defense sector is such a sector in which patients are treated with lot of care as the cases are severe and critical.
Haryana Government claims that “health for all” is a priority. According to the statistical survey of health infrastructure, Haryana has the 18,341 average expense of hospitalization per year. Total nursing staff required at PHCs and CHCs are 1210 but in position are 1698. 15 health centres and 2 new hospitals have been updated in Haryana recently. Haryana is spending 0.51 percent of its Gross State Domestic Product for health sector.
According to Rural Health Statistics, for the rural population of 1,65,09,359 (as per census 2011), there are a total of 2569 sub centres against the requirement of 3301 such health centres and there is a shortfall of 89 Primary Health Centres with 461 PHCs in position at present.
Eligibility for Nursing Admission 2016-
* In case of GNM & ANM, the applicant from outside State can also apply and for MPHW (M) applicants, Haryana domicile is mandatory.
The admission would be done strictly as per merit limited to the seats allocated to respective institutes by the Indian Nursing Council for Nursing courses and only for the number of the seats allocated by the State Government for MPHW (M) schools.
